Service Engineer Jobs in Chennai We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Service Engineer to handle installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, and troubleshooting of heavy fabrication machinery and industrial equipment.
The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise in heavy mechanical systems and be comfortable working at customer sites.
What Youll Do
Install and commission heavy fabrication machinery and industrial equipment. Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
Attend breakdown calls and restore equipment with minimum downtime. Diagnose and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, gearbox, bearing, shaft, coupling, and rotating equipment issues.
Carry out alignment of motors, gearboxes, shafts, and couplings. Conduct machine inspections and recommend performance improvements.
Prepare detailed service reports, maintenance reports, and inspection documentation.
Coordinate with production, maintenance, safety, and project teams. Ensure compliance with industrial safety standards and PPE guidelines.
Support Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) projects and customer service activities.

- Achieve 95% preventive maintenance compliance on scheduled industrial equipment
- Respond to and resolve 90% of breakdown calls within 8 hours to minimize downtime
- Reduce hydraulic and pneumatic system failures by 15% through effective troubleshooting
- Prepare and submit 100% detailed service and maintenance reports within 24 hours of job completion
- Conduct monthly machine inspections and recommend at least 3 performance improvements per quarter
- Ensure 100% adherence to industrial safety standards and PPE guidelines during all service activities
