ELECTRICAL SENIOR ENGINEER

The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading and executing electrical engineering activities across all phases of oil and gas projects—from FEED and detailed design to construction, commissioning, and operation. The role focuses on ensuring that all electrical systems and components are designed, installed, and maintained in compliance with safety, operational, and regulatory standards, both onshore and offshore.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Design & Engineering:

Lead electrical engineering tasks for offshore platforms, FPSOs, subsea systems, and onshore facilities such as processing plants, terminals, and substations.

Prepare, review, and approve engineering deliverables including:

Single-line diagrams (SLDs)

Load lists and schedules

Cable routing/layouts

Lighting, grounding, and earthing systems

Power system studies (load flow, short circuit, motor starting, arc flash)

Specify electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS, motors, VFDs, and generators.

Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (IEC, NEC, IEEE, API, ATEX,NEMA, ISO).

Participate in all project phases (FEED, EPC, commissioning, startup).

Review and approve vendor drawings, datasheets, and technical documentation.

Perform and/or witness FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests), SAT (Site Acceptance Tests), and commissioning activities.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, instrumentation, process) for integrated project delivery.

Must-Have Skills:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering.

10+ yrs of experience in electrical engineering within the oil & gas or petrochemical industry.

Strong knowledge of electrical systems used in hazardous areas (Ex systems), power generation/distribution, and substation design.

Experience with both greenfield and brownfield projects.

Proficient in design and analysis tools (ETAP, SKM, AutoCAD, Navisworks, etc.).

Familiar with industry codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, API, etc.).

Experience with international EPC contractors or oil companies is a plus.

Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
